• The meditation mala is normally held in the left hand and is handled gently and respectfully. 
• Wrap it across your fingers to make it easier to move. Next to the guru bead, wrap two fingers around one of the other beads. Because some religious traditions forbid using the index finger, many people use their thumbs and middle fingers.
