Namgyalma, also known as Ushnishavijaya in Sanskrit, is a prominent deity in Tibetan Buddhism. Namgyalma is revered as a compassionate and powerful bodhisattva associated with the purification of negative karma, the elimination of obstacles, and the attainment of long life and wisdom. The name "Namgyalma" can be translated as "Victorious One" or "Victorious Lady." The practice and visualization of Namgyalma are believed to help practitioners overcome various challenges and accumulate positive merits. Devotion to Namgyalma is particularly valued in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition, where she is considered an important figure for the well-being of individuals and the greater community. In iconography, Namgyalma is often depicted with three faces and eight arms, seated on a lotus throne. The central face is peaceful and white, while the right face is blue and wrathful, and the left face is red and semi-wrathful. Each of her eight arms holds various symbolic objects, representing different aspects of her enlightened qualities. The practice of Namgyalma involves the recitation of her mantra, which is believed to have profound purifying and healing effects. The mantra is "OM BHRUM SVAHA OM AMRITA AYUR DADAYA NAMA HUM PHAT," and practitioners repeat it with devotion and focus. Devotees of Namgyalma engage in her practice for various reasons, including seeking protection, longevity, good health, and spiritual progress. They often create or acquire images or statues of Namgyalma and perform rituals or prayers dedicated to her.

In addition to her role in personal spiritual development, Namgyalma is also revered for her ability to alleviate the suffering of beings in the intermediate state between death and rebirth, known as the bardo. It is believed that the recitation of her mantra and the visualization of her form can provide support and blessings during this critical transition.
